Christmas promotion time at Wexford LEO’s Women in Business Network

Female entrepreneurs in Co Wexford are being encouraged to promote their products or services at the December 10 online network for women in business. This is an ideal opportunity for those promoting Christmas gifts or ideas for the New Year!

With 70 per cent of online sales leaving the country, Wexford LEO is keen to boost local businesses. “Supporting each other and shopping local is vital for businesses this Christmas,” said Breege Cosgrave, Senior Enterprise Development Officer, with the Local Enterprise Office at Wexford County Council. “And we also know that people are making a conscious effort this year to support local businesses.

“The Women in Business Network is an ideal platform for businesswomen to showcase their products or services in front of other female entrepreneurs.”

The December meeting follows a very successful relaunch of the Women in Business Network on 27 November. On that occasion, female entrepreneurs gained insights from local entrepreneur Mary B Walsh of Ire Wel Pallets, Wells, Gorey, and from Bevin Mahon, Managing Director of Dublin-based DentalTech Group. “We’re keen to facilitate peer support for female entrepreneurs and the Network provides a forum for that support,” said Breege. “Essentially, the Network aims to grow and support female entrepreneurship in Wexford. This is in line with one of Enterprise Ireland’s key objectives in its Action Plan for Women in Business.”

In line with Covid-19 public health protocols, the network is running online for now, with free Zoom meetings monthly and a dedicated Facebook Group called Local Enterprise Office Wexford Women In Business Network.

The free December Network meeting is on Zoom on Thursday, December 10 from 11.30am to 12.30pm. The meeting will stay open until 1pm for additional open networking for anyone who would like to connect with others remaining in the room.
